We’re so happy to be bringing back this Sling Studio favourite – say ‘hello again’ to The Matriarch: a sumptuously soft, high percentage baby alpaca wrap, undyed on a stone warp, in a timeless herringbone pattern. This wrap was a sell-out when it was released in 2017, and it’s easy to understand why. Peruvian Baby Alpaca is an incredible fibre – a wool so soft, beautiful and esteemed it was once reserved only for Inca royalty and nicknamed ‘the fibre of the gods.’ As luxurious as cashmere but both softer and stronger, it’s hypoallergenic (no prickle here!), water-repellent, stain resistant, wind resistant, breathable and, whilst lightweight, is highly insulating – up to four times warmer than sheep’s wool! It’s also sustainable, ecological, and cruelty free – all of which are very important to us as a brand, and we know are important to you too.
The New Heritage range was all about taking inspiration from traditional techniques from the past and using lighter, modern yarns to produce something new. The Matriarch holds a special place in Alicia’s heart as it’s named after her grandmother’s place in the family, and we are so thrilled to be able to offer it in a small run once again. Perfect from the newborn days all the way through to toddlerhood, and in a minimalist design that will look good with absolutely anything, this is a wrap you’ll want to treasure forever.
